Heard through the grape vine that Cigna will be repeating another huge cycle of layoffs this season as they did last year. One in Oct, Nov and Jan. Is there truth to this?
Also heard that Medicare will be included in the layoffs, though I thought that wasnt possible due to the upcoming acquisition rules.
Medicare will be affected today
The problem with MA experiencing layoffs is that so many MA employees are voluntarily leaving, they probably don't need layoffs as much. Every other week its a new reorg update and several employees leaving voluntarily. In some work-streams, we have voids left by leadership or important roles leaving. Cigna MA try's to fill these voids by forcing people into new roles or forcing work onto other teams. I know not all MA teams are like this, but several teams are slowly becoming skeleton crews barely holding it together. This further accelerates employee attrition as people are moved around to fill in gaps and more people choose not to work like this. Who, knows if MA will get layoffs?
I really wish MA would experience lay-offs. Can someone please give more info? I’m sticking around in hopes of getting laid off. I will be mad to quit only to learn my co-workers got laid off a month after I voluntarily left, lol.

Medicare will be included to offset the penalties from the audit with CMS. Think senior supervisors and supervisors.
Teams of 15 will merge into teams of 30 and there will be cuts with middle managers. Specifically in Appeals and Grievances.
Medicare will sunset in the next year from what I hear.

Yes, managers had to get names together about a month ago.
If any Medicare employee is laid off, I think it's only fair to call out Medicare leadership for lying. I am seeing suspicious movement and shifting of teams/employees all over Medicare lately.
