I know people will say there was layoff rumor in July but nothing happened, why should I believe this time? The fact is that the company did kind of announce layoff by announcing the 2 billion cost saving plan. They were just too inefficient to quickly figure out the details just like they were too incompetent to forecast the medicare market properly and sold lots of cheap medicare plans (and blame patients for using too much of the service).
Also, remember a new HR chief was hired in September , the transition caused the delay and that is why no layoff was officially announced in August. This time the layoff is part of the new HR chief's "efficiency" initiative
