Thread regarding CVS layoffs

finished HR session today, and yes the inevitable will come

7500 corporate jobs will be eliminated across board, company wise , aetna will be mostly impacted, followed by caremark/signify/oak street, org wise, mostly impacted teams will be under Rosa Alan. You should expect an email with the title "Message from Karen Ly--h" on monday/tuesday next week.

I know people will say there was layoff rumor in July but nothing happened, why should I believe this time? The fact is that the company did kind of announce layoff by announcing the 2 billion cost saving plan. They were just too inefficient to quickly figure out the details just like they were too incompetent to forecast the medicare market properly and sold lots of cheap medicare plans (and blame patients for using too much of the service).

Also, remember a new HR chief was hired in September , the transition caused the delay and that is why no layoff was officially announced in August. This time the layoff is part of the new HR chief's "efficiency" initiative

This post is d-mb. What are you talking about “new HR chief’s efficiency program”. HC just got here bet you she doesn’t even know where the bathrooms are. It takes months to plan these layoffs because of WARN and the legal review so when they violate our rights they can hide it. This poster is an id--t this whole thing is Karen and TC taking money out of our pockets because they messed up the company so let’s blame the right people. You aetna people are sc--wed. You have Karen’s second secretary Katerina running the company and her only qualification is that she goes shoe shopping with the boss.

Not sure about the number but heard it will be a few thousand. It will be from a bunch of areas too. I think this person said the layoffs are mostly from Alan Rosa area because he did the piece on security during the HR meeting but he did that because he is the CISO so that’s just the script, Chandra did it last time when she was the CISO and security did not get cut. I think most of the layoffs will come from retail and Aetna since Aetna isn’t making money and retail is cutting back stores.

EVP Jennifer T at Aetna should be held accountable. She oversees all final Performance Evaluation Reports and makes the critical decisions on layoffs. Additionally, she reviews the Employee Engagement Survey Reports. If anyone has written a negative comment about someone, that person is automatically targeted for termination.

Ok so it took them this long to get things orchestrated to launch this eave..wth wpuld be the reason to do yet another round just a nonth later..that would certianly telegraph to employees investors etc that you cant even do a reduction plan.

Oh why is no one talking about the hedge funds and investment firms who are the real puppet masters..they are the real rot of the earth..sure KL own this but follow the money its these people who are decimating the whole country.

How much risk am I in under Tom Burke / Janice Geraldo? Seems like we still had open recs, lose a few last year, and a few more this year to other opportunities.

This has been planned for months. Leaders had to submit the people they were eliminating by July. The date has never changed or been shifted. You’re making this sound like it was hastily done.

So in the last year my manager who was 30+ year employee was laid off. Was close to retirement too (2-3 more years). In the end it’s just a number and if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time, tough luck

Tenure has no bearing. You make more than the newbie, you will be chosen. Happened to many last year. It’s all about cutting cost not maintaining quality.

I hope they considered tenure. They need experience. Not a bunch of new people or consultants or good forbid the d-mb asz vendors who barely read scripts accurately

They all need to give up their bonus, they’re collecting a ridiculous salary while the rest of us can barely survive.

I wonder if that's why she kicked the Aetna CEO to the curb after like 9 months on the job: he wouldn't pull the trigger on a layoff, so she said "fine I'll do it myself". (Yes in my head all C-suite manager meetings are like Succession or Suits)

Is that a company wide email or just to people being let go?

All the people suffering because of bad decisions by Karen, and her overpromising .
She should be gone too
