Just heard that case management is going offshore to the Philippines
Any more to go to the Philippines by end of year
There are several AI projects where data from GBD (Government Business Domain) is sent offshore and is being accessed by Carelon IT staff in India.
Bs!
Odd since GBD member information is contractually forbidden to be shared with off shore teams. Medicaid is taking over Medicare and causing all sorts of problems. I see Elevance losing their Medicare contracts due to mismanagement again.
And we wonder why Social Security is drying up. Companies should have to pay the SSI amount for any job shipped oversees but could otherwise be performed in the US.
...I guess this is one of the reasons they want us to contribute to their PAC...To give them legislative cover as they sc--w us over.
It’s not the government’s job nor place to put a stop to this. It’s ours. And leadership doesn’t give a hoot what we think. Clients will catch on. C-suite folks will have long moved on before the stuff hits the fan. Everybody (but the mucky-mucks) loses.
I wouldn’t want my information oversees or my plan. I double check claims that offshore Carelon completes and they make tons of errors. They don’t read clinical & they do not comprehend information. The government needs to put a stop to this.
Many clients ARE saying no to their employee’s information going off shore. And some are leaving for our competition. The more this happens; the more we need to offshore to reduce costs. It’s like trying to put out a fire with a bucket of gasoline. It’s not just Elevance, it’s all over. What great time to be alive!
Wow ! So disgusting. How can health plans allow this. They know this would cause so much member complaints and even providers. why can’t Medicare just say no they can’t send member information to a different country. No wonder there’s a lot of job openings over there. I wonder how many more departments will be impacted in the upcoming months. Good luck to everyone.
