Why are there so many Medicare job postings with this pending sale?

Don't apply for them unless you're hoping to be laid off.
I spoke with a recruiter regarding one of thr positions. Medicare portion will be sold and transferred in January, and while they said they don't "expect" any lay offs, of there are, they'll be honoring Cigna's severance package.

What departments are having people leave MA? I know of one but that’s because I interact with them frequently.

Anyone else noticing the increase of employees "voluntarily" leaving Medicare lately?

These last few weeks I have seen many people voluntarily leave Cigna Medicare, and no one backfill or future potential new hire being discussed. Their work is just supposed to be absorbed by others including myself. We continue to shrink and be asked to do more work with less people. I have only seen transitioning of other employees from one MA department to another MA, but no true new hires in MA in many months. I doubt they actually are hiring anyone.

  • I hope you're refusing to do the extra work. I mean, if they're that short staffed, they're not exactly in a position to be able to fire you for not doing extra. Fu-k em' - not your problem. That extra effort needs to be spend applying to somewhere more stable.

Agree with the poster that very few NEW folks of any are coming in but most posted roles are being filled by people transitioning from within MA.

Agree that the job postings are required to fill roles that we committed to filling moving over to HCSC. I wonder though how many of these roles will end up getting cut after the move to HCSC.

These are mostly ghost Jobs listing. Some are real listing, others are fake. But very very few jobs (even the real ones) are actually being hired. Meanwhile we are drowning in work taking on more responsibilities as more people leave Cigna Medicare.

Cigna committed to maintaining headcount through the close of the sale to HCSC. Leadership has not retained people in roles conveying to HCSC, so they need to backfill them.

It’s not surprising people are leaving. MA employees were frozen out of transferring internally to commercial roles. They have no assurance of a role at HCSC in the long term. There’s no clarity around what pay and benefits will look like at HCSC other than equal “in total” to what we have now - for the first year.

Im hoping to be part of the initial RIF once the sale closes while there’s still a severance guarantee.

Cigna is giving it's employees the middle finger and they're leaving in droves. I applied to one of those positions to see what the pay was, and it wasn't great. Absolutely not worth the stress and risk of being laid on in months.

People have quit.
MA business is the most heavily regulated in the world, so work must continue.

Tons of people have left or they need people to help with all the enhancements. Within 1 year I have seen so many system updates to MA, that would have taken an act of congress to just get approved when I started years ago
