Thread regarding Capital One layoffs

Finished Coaching Plan

I just finished a coaching plan with my manager based on a below strong rating at mid year. My manager has been giving positive feedback during the entire process. Today was my last day of the coaching session, but he did not say either way if I passed or failed. I did send him a follow up email asking how my performance was during the ending of the session and I’m still waiting to hear back. Does anyone know how this typically plays out at your end?

I hate to say it, but you're probably getting PIP'd with your year end review. if you do, take the package because no one ever survives a PIP. Managers are forced to get rid of a certain number of people and stack ranking is how they do that to avoid layoffs making the news. Best of luck to you. 🍀

I was on the CP with extension from Feb-May 2024 as an outcome of EOY 2023 perf eval. I got verbal only feedback from manager and never written that I exited CP with "success". Two months later (MY 2024) I got rated Below Strong for 2 same competencies (which were Inconsistent in EOY 2023) + 1 more. That led to PIP.
(1) Advice for those being placed on CP with fabricated data - > never acknowledge in Workday, escalate to AR. This is to throw the wrench in their pipeline where they use CP as a tool to start documenting your performance as "bad" (fake bad).
(2) Advice for those finishing CP -> ask for written feedback from your manager in e-mail, print it or send it to your personal email and start documenting things from here on.

I got a below strong at mid-year and was put on a coaching plan. I was given a huge project that was successful and "passed" my coaching plan. But at year end I got a below strong again because I was "still lacking in other areas" and was told I was going on a PIP. I opted out. My belief is if you're on the "list," you're going down one way or another. I hope I'm wrong, for your sake. Good luck!

Your manager has nothing to say in this situation. It’s up to VP to tell him if he is going to keep you or not…

You should be getting an answer abt the coaching plan. Plz know your manager still needs a below strong at year end. I'm in the exact same situation. I held my manager C ountable. ALl he said was you're trending towardsstrong. I know that. It's a fame. Msnagers do not tell you truth and the DO fudge the numbers. Good Luck.
