I’m just going through the motions. I’ve been consistently avoiding to take on more responsibilities and to invest more energy and time than needed to wrap up my day. I’m making sure to not stay for a moment longer than my regular hours. I do my work fairly, but I’m definitely no longer going above and beyond. Why would any of us who are still here?

The fallout of losing tenured & experienced staff is hitting hard. People are jumping ship left and right! Morale is at rock bottom. Impossible deadlines using broken reporting with half the staff to do it because everyone was laid off, while leadership remains clueless and just wants to make everything look good for a potential sale. It's just.... sad.
The last round was really odd, it seemed like they got rid of the best people as well as the worst. At least in my area. I assumed if they got rid of high salaries and poor performers.
Now we're more understaffed than before and a lot of the stronger people are gone.
Sounds like you are doing your job. The old kool-aid cult is funny to me. Why would you go out of your way to take on someone else's responsibilities? You were expected to work 8 hours and did? Great, now go home.
Grass is greener!!!! Everyone who left or who was let go are so much happier. Spread those wings and fly! Apply out!
