It’s 2028 and Guru takes a break from his new found hobby of yachting as the crew brings his boat into the harbor in Dubai. He brings up his Starlink modem to check on how things are going in the world. He found a niche for Viasat in borrowing billions of dollars to build large office buildings that go unused, but appreciate dramatically over time. All of the real estate investments are doing well, and bond investors are eager to send more money. Unfortunately for most of the people who used to work there they weren’t needed and were casualties of his success.
Viasat still has a fetish for spending 100s of millions on satellites. He checks in on the latest project which is the development of a reflector as big as the moon. They will get added revenue from advertisements displayed on it. The marketing hype from MD states that this single satellite will have 1,000,000,000 Gbps of capacity. This is truly the mythical beast - the big foot of the sky.
