Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Are you happy to work at Ford?

Most people I know are half asleep , clocking in and are the most apathetic people I have ever met

No idea why you're being downloaded so far

Everything you say is indicative of the management and direction of this company and has nothing to do with the engineering or employees of the company

I fully support everything you have said

My last day in 2022 was a non-event. I brought my laptop and company phone to turn in and I actually had to find someone after walking around PDC for half an hour. The place was empty and I didn't even get to shake hands with anyone. There was one guy in his office that I always considered a boot-licking tool so I walked by without acknowledging him. After 32 years I pulled out of the parking lot and readjusted my rear-view mirror so I wouldn't have to look at the place. Driving home down Outer Drive just as Dearborn High was letting students out at the end of the day some kid in a Dodge Charger damn near ki-led me at Cherry Hill. I'm sure his party store/gas station owner parents were proud.

The money is good. I can't complain about that. Not sure when the gravy train will end. I am just going along for the ride.

@1lnb+1uF0HWqM you are making an assumption here that they have to stay and build the career at Ford. Unlikely. FCG's will move on to other jobs almost for certain. Great place to start though and cut your teeth. Also to possibly find out exactly what you don't want from a career.

As a calibrator, I am happy to have an office in a test vehicle. No office space anxiety or competing for shared workspaces. I work on BEV, so of course my office can undergo an expected thermal event. I think I can roll out of a moving vehicle pretty fast, if this happens.

What gets me is kids of former employees who are in fcg, why would you let your family or friends start their career in a dead end sinking ship industry, sure you get treated well for the first 5 years but it’s all downhill after that

Why would anyone willing drive into the office to drop a hot one? On-site bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. The power move is to drive into work log in, then go back home to drop it like it’s hot.

These posts about feelings and emotions are making us d-mber. Please stop. Trash. No one cares if you like your job or are "proud" of your company. This isn't real or useful information. Go post on Facebook if you want an emotional echo chamber.

I have an idea how to solve the Ford recall & reliability problem. Here it is : Ford & Toyota do a joint venture. Ford supplies the styling, and vehicle bodies and interiors only. Toyota supplies literally everything else. It will look like a Ford but have the quality and reliability of a Toyota. Can Ford at least handle the body and interior without being recalled ? The vehicle will be 100% Ford in appearance only.

I only cone to the office to drop a steamer after some caffeine and head back home. Why would I want to deal with the aftermath I leave behind. We have cleaning people to deal with it.

Really if you think about I’m a job creator. Creating a job one bowl at a time.

Can people stop making generic topics like this? You can clearly derive employee satisfaction from the responses in other threads.

Also, I second the coffee badging.
