Anyone think its unethical to hire someone from the outside, representing great opportunities, while knowing what is coming, and during continuous layoffs? I see 2 openings I am familiar with being shared on LI, by managers, not just the XRX HR post, while people perfectly capable of performing those roles are being IRIF'ed.

Those job/opportunity listings are just a window dressing to make it look like X is still a viable entity.
Ghost jobs. Look them up. No one is getting hired. Gives the impression that the company is growing and still hiring. It's an investor thing, not real.
Are they going to actually hire for the position is the question. I've seen some managers need to fill a role and be unable to get someone internally even though Xerox is laying people off.
I think it would be unethical if you were not to warn a prospective new employee what a show they were applying for!
