They're finding ways to make working here as unappealing as possible so we'd walk away on our own instead of them having to pay us severance and/or unemployment.

First, if profits are good and we’re number three we are not merely mediocre especially in the eyes of leadership. Secondly, there is a wild range in approaches and workloads across the business in terms of culture and what can be automated or what can be offshored so assuming everything is designed to promote leaving is just plain wrong. There are some great people at the company who do great work and the other perspective is healthcare is just behind period.
Most of the process run during off business hour so it make sense to hire offshore
The shorter term employees will move on, as they should. The longer term employees know how to play this game. They will do less work, but just enough. No extra effort or going above and beyond. This reflects our upper management philosophy of offering "just enough" benefits.
Until this upper management team is replaced, expect mediocrity to be the norm here. It has been in some areas for a long time already.
As a Cigna Medicare employee looking in at these recent HCSC comments from your townhall, this sounds awfully familiar to what Cigna has been doing. Our (Cigna) out of touch leaders care more about Shareholders and stock prices than employees. We've been going through silent layoffs for well over a year and new work policies created with the intention of increasing employee attrition. They are also offshoring many jobs to India over here. These tactics are slowly starting to work as many of colleagues have been leaving all while not backfilling since we are not hiring despite the many ghost job listings HR creates. It's not comforting knowing we are leaving one $h!t show for another.
Too true - just hang in and wait for a package. In IT areas the jobs are going to new contracting company while we are all told - oh we will hire MORE staff to monitor all the automation. SERIOUSLY???????
