Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

Townhall

According to the CEO, you get 2 less days of PTO because they are balancing things out - such as letting you work 2-days remote.

To people thinking leaders were laughing at you, that could be the case. But from what it looked like there was a regular employee audience there, not just the leaders who contributed during the meeting. At least that’s how it seemed to me. Maybe the laughs were nervous responses from regular hq employees?

When all of my friends describe us as an evil health insurance company, I don’t put up any sort of fight anymore. The people at the top don’t care about their employees or the community, they only care about their bonuses. Hope we can all find different jobs that respect us at some point in the near future, and that HCSC crumbles

Cigna MA employees want to know: What actually happened? What is the current starting PTO and sick days for new people, as well as for 5 and 10 year employees?

It was sadly comical when they said there were some "headwinds" on the Blue Pulse survey, but that direct managers were seen as favorable. Yes, the managers and their direct reports are united on how bad our upper management is currently.

On such an important topic, with Powerpoint being used, why wasn't there a slide comparing HCSC’s benefits and PTO to the rest of the marketplace?

The simple answer is that no third-party data shows HCSC ranking among the top in benefits compared to the marketplace. If they had such a graphic, they would have shown it instead of relying on Maurice to paint a picture with words.

No Maurice, you didn't calm the herd today.

Since VP and above have no pro restrictions- why should they care? It was tone deaf, hurtful , and shows incredible immaturity and lack of leadership.

Out of touch and uncaring answer. They do not care about employees. They care about what will get them higher bonuses. That's it!

They could just shut down this conversation by sharing the competitive intelligence they are referring to by showing employees what they learned about where we are with PTO. My experience shows me in interviews and my own research that we are not competitive with PTO. Just a very disappointing bs answer

He so tapped dance in answering that question….and then laughs about it and jokes about how many questions were submitted in relation to PTO. Sigh….some days I can’t believe this place,
