Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Return to office

Time to return back to the office 5 days a week. We do better when we can work together collaborating on common goals. If people decide to leave, OH well.

Get rid of this silo work environment that remote work caused. Fill these offices back up, it also helps local small businesses. Stop lying to yourself about being more productive at home.

I expect Our Lord and Savior will make the path to full time RTO very clear, very soon.

Can I get an AMEN?!!!

The mere fact that work got done remote proves it works. It is ITtelecom, not a factory where u need butts in seats get with the times

The reason this keeps getting brought up is people in Seattle don’t go in 3 days a week. Start holding the people accountable before it impacts everyone or hire better managers. But that would make too much sense.

the blaring silence around this issue in the office leads me to believe that full time RTO is coming soon. With all the talk about this in just about every meeting if the status quo was to be upheld an announcement would be made by now. IMHO.

If this is the case, then I believe they should let us work from the office that is closest to our home and not require us to commute to a campus.

I can admit I'm more productive at home but I spend a good amount of time taking care of personal stuff... it's just how it is.

30 reactions (+3/-27) lol

Ok so being remote for 3 years was proven successful. This person is just trolling, prob a laid off employee that was on pip or a Verizon worker lol.

They're just following the lead of their buddy Jeff the Bozo at Amazon.

Morale is at an all time low at this company. One way to make it even worse is to have everyone in office 5 days a week. Having multiple office locations, hubs, and continuously hiring remote managers and employees is also a major issue going on right now.

I think full time in the office is overdue. We work better TOGETHER. The people in the office are clearly working circles around the people working at home who do nothing but eat Little Debbie Cakes and watch The View. Back to work ladies!

My local office used to be filled with people, but they laid off nearly everyone except customer service roles. 50% of the building is now empty. It's like a ghost town.

They do not care about filling offices. They are requiring RTO to get people to quit so they don't have to pay severance.

All people managers should be in the office everyday. All policy makers also, plain and simple. We have been on automatic pilot since covid.

It should be all or nothing. If everyone can't have this flexibility then everyone should be back in the office. It's a very gray area!! And all types of data for both sides. Less that 2% of our workforce should be working from home instead we are at 28% of Operations working from home and of that less that 2% spends anytime in the office weekly. People are taking advantage of the flexibility hurting it for everyone else. People should be in the office at least 3 days a week.

Y'know, it's possible that by taking such a rigid stance with high conviction (and blanket statement), you may just be projecting your own inability to adapt to a changing technological environment onto others. There's also a decent chance you're overpaid, in light of this.

"I can't do it without 24/7 authoritarian supervision, as I will instantly become a bad actor the moment the spotlight is off of the me. Therefore, no one else can, either. Effective productivity is unattainable without professional babysitters*."

  • Caveat: for you, not necessarily others.
