Looks like going forward there will be rolling low key layoffs. We lost a few last week and looks like we will lose more as the company adjusts to massage each quarters forecasts in an attempt to maintain share price and earnings per share. Nobody should feel safe with the exception, of course, of the leadership team.

I confirm that since Spring 2024 I have regrettably been placed "on the outside of Corning looking in"... with concern for former friends and colleagues I still follow this site regularly and take interest. If not for the BS of regular layoffs due to leadership failures, I would consider it as perfect place to work. Quack... quack!
When you layoff everyone who knows what they are doing and only hire people who say yes to the CEO. That is not a recipe for a good company, it’s a recipe for the Titan submersible.

How are you people surprised by this? 20 years with this company and this strikes you as unprecedented? Have you been sleeping?

All these firings are bringing out the worst in managers. They are bad to begin with but now they are only protecting themselves from being let go.
In my 20 years here I have never seen the company this way. We are eating our own and I will guarantee you, if this keeps up there will be no Corning in a few years. WT* is Wendell doing?
The Union will most likely have a week on, week off or sometjing similar to avoid the General Layoff.
