Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

What happened to the FOW scares ?

People in my team still WFH even though they were summoned to office.

I haven't been in once. Haven't heard a peep about it - maybe I'm earmarked for layoff but I will remain WFH for the balance of my time here.

Most in my office only seem to routinely go in on anchor days. Other days are very light.

In my area, Cigna has little to no footprint or office space. I along with several other Cigna employees I know who live in my same area were all originally hired pre and post covid as WFH employees. When FOW happened, Cigna assigned us all to the only tiny regional office in the area with no space. So we all have been office aligned interim WFH since then.

Yes I find it super annoying! Really struggling to keep up with those days when people living 5 mins away choose to not come. So unfair. Downvote me as much as you like. But if the scare tactics are not going to work, then stop scaring people . HR is an id--t.

There are plenty of empty cubes. Many with names on them but no humans showing up to sit there. Despite the anchor day B.S. it is still pretty empty. You'd think after a year of monthly layoffs, there'd be lots of room to bring all those still w@h lucky winners into HQ. Seems that many folks told to report wrangled themselves deals to not have to report in person, by knowing someone who changed their designation, having leadership that looks the other way, or they got a 'pass' (medical or otherwise). Those that do actually show up look just as miserable as I feel. No one wants to be there, except maybe the folks who play ping pong seemingly on a daily basis, all day long. In person presence should be called what it is, "HTBAA - huge tax break, and attempted attrition."

The no current office space people are a different list. All the sent in and home now seem to have somehow gotten approvals or doctors notes, and probably some that just don't care and waiting to see what will happen.

In many cases, Cigna simply didn't have enough space in the office they assigned the employee to.
