Half of the National Sales Team terminated after training the new half of the Team in Tempe and Atlanta our jobs. All relationship bankers and two managers.

Real Talk: still processing after getting laid off/terminated after more than 3 decades in credit operations. I have no regrets or ill feeling towards USB, it’s AI to blame. This rapid technology is truly a job ki-ler to many us. Will move on and will learn from it.
A lot of the layoffs were in WCIB and part of the Syndicated/Agented loan closing groups being moved/consolidated.
Once the facility opened in AZ, layoffs were in the future. Tempe is low skill, cheap labor $15-$16 HR vs $35-$40

I was one of them. I am in Ops a non-management role, and they are not done. Once the 4 Hubs are settled. I bet they will start merging the middle management Levels 6-7-8-9 into something else.
I had 30 years plus with the Bank and not relocating from Washington. Taking the package and collect unemployment for a while. If you relocate and sell your house, they could still lay you off down the road!
The bank always keeps it quiet. I was not part of any email distributions this week but someone else on my floor showed me an email announcing lending services reducing their footprint big time🙄. Bellevue Seattle Missoula buildings all closing at year end and consolidated to Oshkosh Tempe Portland saint Paul.
I don’t know any of these people, but saw email come through showing a lot of managers had their position eliminated
The only mgr I trusted there was let go along with a higher mgr. It seems like this round included some middle management, but I wouldn't be surprised if it continued until the end of next month.
My manager got laid off, in WCiB operations. Lots of managers were layoff

I saw it too and am very curious if these layoffs included a package. I sure hope so.
For sure cuts in consumer product studios and business banking product. So much for forward thinking as product is just that.
