Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Want to leave, looking for another job

Been doing it for a while, even expanded search beyond our subsection of the industry. No luck so far. It’s been only 3 months that I started, and I got some offers but they just weren’t good. I’m starting to panic a little bit, because the job market doesn’t look great. What are your experiences? Any ideas or advice? Thanks.

I've been looking for almost 2 years, Ive put in almost 700 job applications internal and external, changed my resume multiple times, paid to have it reviewed, networked and interviewed. I've not had any luck. I work on the financial side with 20 years of experience under my belt and a degree. It's been something else trying to move my career forward.

Job market is collapsing. Economy is on shaky ground. A million less jobs than thought after the labor report. It'll take a while. May have to settle for here a little longer. Even here, new CHRO and soon-to-be CEO - new 'strategy' will be set. Do they continue to lay off internal talent with less experienced anchors who drag us down? Best of luck.

Been looking for 6ish months.
My resume is not commenting so I'm a little restricted what I look strong for. Started getting a couple interviews a month or two ago. No offers yet but I'm the final round for one that looks like a really good fit.

Agree the market feels tough with many companies trimming down, so Im not looking for a big step up. (Well of course I am, but I'm open to a small step up given reality.)

The most important thing is... don't panic.
And be really clear with yourself about what you really want out of this move. It's it about time? Location? Pay? Type of work? I'm a tough market your should still be able to nail one of those, maybe two. But structure your life so that you can be content even if you're job doesn't check all the boxes.

Min is 6 months and possible 50 jobs to get one interview. It’s a bloodbath with all the tech layoffs. Prepare and slick up your resume.

Offers in < 3 months is fast. When rates start coming down things will get better
