Techs of any sort are the first to go based on my experience as an Exxon employee. Also anyone sitting in a remote operations center.

Go read the ExxonMobil board on this site. The answer is the Indian engineers aren’t very good but they are cheap. US CEOs and executives want cheap so they can keep increasing their pay and reducing yours. It is a race to the bottom. Even if you keep your job prepare for lower than inflation raises and benefits cuts each year.

Yes India has a large pool of talent, but not all of them are on the A team. The good ones migrate out, leaving the scraps behind!

Yes that is the whole idea, cheaper rates, and yes India has a big pool of talent and top universities, just sample any major US university to get an idea of how many faculties are from India.
