If you are over 50 and have high pay (well earned, but that makes no difference) you're a walking target. Even outside the jobs being moved overseas, Chevron will be looking to replace highly paid workers with cheaper ones here in the country, often fresh grads. It's a sad state of affairs, but it's the reality.

Same thing happening at Exxon. Age discrimination is real. If you are in your 40’s or younger now is the time to move while you can still establish yourself somewhere else. Best to find another industry as companies are consolidating and all following the same playbook of firing US employees and replacing with Indians
Don’t worry they’ll get just enough younger workers so they’re not held liable for a lawsuit
