Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

CVX employees from India in US & elsewhere

Don't you guys think US & other international employees of Indian origin would move back or given preference instead of hiring off the street?

No Indian who has moved to the USA is going to want to move back to India. India is far from developed and is not a fun place to live.

The current indian employees are generally good at playing snakes and ladders and chasing after the latest fads. I wouldnt expect too much from engine

The only expats that will be moving overseas will be HiPots or friends of EM. I'm been through this before at other companies. They're not going to waste money on just anyone because they apply. EM will slowly squeeze people out without offering a severance. There won't be any mass layoffs just targeted ones in each BU. Better get your resume up to date. Good luck to all.

That’s why we are asking, if our head is on the chopping block can we atleast get jobs in Bangalore (maybe not full expat, just pay for international schools)

Indians on US payroll cost a fortune compared to their hapless brethren at home. They are more likely to be sacked than to be offered a cush expat package to work in Bangalorr.
