My first day at Helevance I said to another newbie, WTF is going on here. I was stupefied by the disaster I stepped into. The BS was so deep, I had to put on my hip boots. It seems like everyone was talking bull sheet and had very little understanding of their job. And people wonder why this place is a train wreck. It's like being in high school, it's got cliques and bullies and liars and fakes. I do not wish this place on anyone!

My first week on the job I went to a meeting in my department and realized the team had no idea what they were talking about. It got worse over the next few months. I would put my head phones in and zone out with some music, or fall alseep and wake up after the meeting was over. Lots of folks in my area talking alot of bull and just winging it.
In my >20 years, i've had >25 managers. Some years I had a new manager every quarter.
I have had so many new hires come to me over the years and ask me why this place is so sc--wed up. These are people with experience at numerous other companies, so they quickly recognize the insanity. I explain to them the politics, protectionism, favoritism, and useless management that is prolific throughout the company. I tell them that if they don't want to play the game or tolerate those that do, they need to find the nearest door and exit quickly.
It is bad that is a fact. You are correct that nobody knows what’s going on. My manager won’t write any policies on anything so it can be changed constantly & there’s no accountability. In stead we get numerous emails on guesses of how to do things. It’s really sad.
When I look back on what my job and what this place was likes 2-3 years ago, it’s a complete 180. It was organized with a clear focus on an objective. We had managers/leaders who treated people fairly for the most part. It has quickly turned into a sh-t show and I am starting to think it’s being done purposefully.
It's high school on steroids.
