Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Now Chevron is going to Bangalore India

Chevron just announced to setup a Chevron Technical Center in Bengalore now and will shift 600 jobs (initially?). Wow! Looks like the highly paid CEOs of O&G companies have 0 ability to lead the company anymore. All of them are just shelling our money to consultants like McKinsey and like of it and copying others move.

The CEO greed in American companies is ki-ling companies and it's soul (employees) faster than ever.

How is the immigration law in India? I'm thinking about emigrating there. All the jobs are going to India these days. Now the magnificent company Chevron is going there. I'd dump Exxon for Chevron in India anytime.

Please post updates on the Chevron Recruitment effort in Bangalore.

Get the details out to all BTC personnel so they can all interview for that 50% higher salary.

It would be awesome if EM is able to supply all of the planned 600 persons Chevron wants to initially hire.

I heard Chevron will be offering up to 50% more than EM to the current EM BTC staff.

I was also told EM S&D do not plan to increase BTC salaries in reaction.

When paying people peanuts, 50% more peanuts is not significant.

For all the BTC staff that jump to Chevron, please take at least 5 CVs of your colleagues and recommend them.

EM has been ramping up BTC for 6 years, getting the first 600 Chevron recruits ready to hit the ground productively.

Congrats to all the BTC staff that will be getting a 25% raise to jump to Chevron.

Chevron needs to plan to keep their Houston staff for the incredible amount of rework that will be required.

Lesson Learned from 6 years of data!

Buenos Aires was the first attempt at a low cost technology center. The only thing they turned out to be good at was putting numbers in spreadsheets and checking forms. Good is probably a stretch also.

It’s laughable that Chevron are advertising their new Bangalore office as innovative and driving new technology. I have not seen this at all from BTC in 4 yrs. Mostly new hires asking to be spoon-fed information. About the same as my local co-op student.
We had an exec for GP visit and someone asked- why not just hire cheap labour in South America? At least it would be in the same time zone and not charging us $90USD/hr (going BTC rate). She answered all options are on the table- BTC isn’t the low-cost panacea managers thought they would be. Maybe we’ll get a future BATC…

For all the whiny ninnies here, why should they pay you $250k per year to do nothing useful when they can get delays, sh-t work, and excuses out of someone in India for 20% of that or less?

Fixed that for you

Further confirmation on the talent India has. Please treat your EM India colleagues with respect, or they will leave for better culture to another major and then no one will remain to do actual work.

Most of Houston just pushes paper and ‘makes their boss look good’ all day anyway.

It is a sad indictment of the void in imagination and creativity to identify innovative opportunities in value and growth. They are basically demonstrating that O&G is an innovation vacuum and acknowledging it's mature status.

The only strategy they are therefore capable of delivering is cost reduction via low cost staffing. You couldn't make up just how inadequate senior management is currently.

Ambani and / or Adani will buyout these companies eventually.
