Lumen achieves one source of trusted data and reduces manual workload by over one thousand hours

Informatica (NYSE:INFA), a leader in enterprise AI-powered cloud data management, today announced that Lumen Technologies, a global integrated network solutions provider, has successfully modernized their on-premises PowerCenter workloads to Informatica's Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) platform, accelerating time-to-value and minimizing migration costs and effort in its expansion to the cloud.

Lumen faced several data and IT challenges caused by mergers and acquisitions, such as data quality, latency, duplication and reconciliation issues. Lumen partnered with Informatica to create a centralized data platform to consolidate its on-premises data and warehouses. Informatica's AI-powered IDMC platform allowed Lumen to work within a single platform to streamline network assets, cloud connectivity, security solutions and collaboration tools.

The move from Informatica PowerCenter to Informatica Cloud is not the big step you think it is. Where the heck do you get this "Lumen achieves one source of trusted data and reduces manual workload by over one thousand hours" from? You are obviously not involved with this product at Lumen whatsoever. Or else you're part of the SLT and think that's what happened because Informatica told you that LOL.

"Ever stopped to consider that you might be misinterpreting it wrong, given that this is a big part of a path to $1B of cost savings? It's likely 1000 hours a day, which is over 100 people. That makes a lot more sense.

Use your brain once in a while. It feels good."

We can only go by what was written in the article. Your using your brain to make assumptions that you cannot prove. I've been in Telecom for 30+ years and read hundreds of updates like this. The employees who work in those areas are the only one's who will ever know if it was successful or not. There will never be a follow up article.

"So we saved the equivalent of a half employee...and how much did it cost to implement? Looking at an 20yr Return on Investment and any Capital project (true revenue producing) would get chopped with those numbers. So I ask, can you figure out what the true end game is here minions?!?!?!"

"Reduces manual workload by 1000 hrs"

FT employee (40 hr/week) annual hours = 2080

So we saved the equivalent of a half employee...and how much did it cost to implement? Looking at an 20yr Return on Investment and any Capital project (true revenue producing) would get chopped with those numbers. So I ask, can you figure out what the true end game is here minions?!?!?!
