This week it was GM, next week or month it'll be us. It always happens, no exceptions.

There have already been small stealth layoffs in various groups in Dearborn, but we've been hearing of larger layoffs coming before Sept.
Here's an email that the chief comms officer Truby sent to his team last week:
Team: Jeff Bezos is right. Frugality really does drive innovation. I’ve seen the creative ingenuity of our global Comms team in action this year, and you have identified over 200 hackathon solutions designed to save us millions of dollars and hours.
In the coming weeks, we will all be participating in mid-year check-ins. As you know, actively driving out waste and increasing efficiency is a priority for the entire company and I’d like everyone in Comms to have ownership in our performance as a team.
At your mid-year check ins, please ensure that you have a specific objective related to driving continuous improvement into our operations to work more efficiently.
In 2024, you might accomplish this objective by implementing a hackathon solution, re-imagining a process that no longer works, or eliminating work that is not adding value. In 2025, you should consider tackling an efficiency challenge that is more complex and a heavier lift.
Let’s shift from episodic efforts at increased efficiency to integrating this mindset into how we work every day. Together we can drive continuous improvement into our operations and achieve breakthrough ideas.
Thank you for prioritizing this in your check-ins.
Thanks for the warning. I'll work on my resume pronto.
Ford copies GM.
Might not be right away but you're not wrong. They do copy each other. One just has to initiate...This time it was Stellantis. No doubt it will touch Ford in some degree.
