Question about non rehirable

If you were let go and your manager put non rehire. HR says that it’s manager discretion, even though it was for one metric. Are you ever able to reapply?? I told HR that there is no reason I should be a non rehire as I did nothing explicit to the company, I missed one metric. My manager reallllly did not like me.

leader here. the manager may put someone as 'non-re-hirable", however they must also add proper reasons (and possibly documentation) why. Most of the time you're only not re-hirable if it was a egregious reason such a violation of our core values, fraud, misrepresentation of records, etc. Missing metrics are one that not sure would stick and HR can overturn that.

When I was forced out, i was told I was rehirable, just not for the specific role I had. Not like I'm ever going back to that cesspool anyways. But you can be considered eligible for rehire.

No that’s not true. Because future employers can ask that question. Eligible for rehire isn’t uncommon because you’re fired. Not eligible for rehire normally means you did something unethical to the company, stealing, fraudulent time cards etc.

Why would you ever want to work there again?

You got out of an abusive relationship, just move on.

They have to say ineligible for rehire to support firing you. If they said eligible for rehire it wouldn't make sense. The only people eligible for rehire is if you leave voluntarily or are laid off.

I did dispute lol my manager was the biggest * never in my life have a met someone so cruel. Arb never reached back out but when I did the dispute it was for the simple fact of, why? HR said unfortunately its manager discretion, which made no sense at all to me. I said non rehire is like I did something god forsaken awful, like this manager really just wants a power trip. I would never go back either honestly just because of that manager, I actually liked my job but not her

I just went through the same thing. Not that I ever want to go back to that godforsaken place but had a real mo--n manager that put not for rehire. If you did not dispute at the time your only recourse is arbitration but good luck because nobody form HR or arbitration will ever contact you back. Just forget this place exists and move in with your life.
