We all know it happening. Can anyone outline the WHY it is happening? There has been speculation that fines were imposed due to algorithm’s denying claims inappropriately, the need to inflate DCs stock portfolio, need to staff India, and other such speculations. Can anyone provide insight to the actual why?

I can’t imagine a better symbol of late stage capitalism than Cigna. A health organization run by an army of Montgomery Burns’s. If you watch their investor day presentation, it is very clear who their top priority is.
@3rwr+1u5JrJU5 Yes I am fully aware. That was my point. There is a legal obligation to be greedy. It is immoral but the law. And people wonder why Gen Z doesn’t believe in capitalism.

The only correct answer is profit at the expense of people. But operating costs factor into how much profit. And since since some profit isn’t good enough more profit is needed. Which is a fancy way of saying Cigna is legally obligated to be greedy
