Non connect week requirements

It seems like a lot of groups are constantly forcing/strongly encouraging people to come in during non connect weeks for meetings, off sites, town halls, aligning with a business partner who has a different connect week, etc., but then they regularly skip a day or two of the actual connect week.

Is this fine or is HR going to put these people on a list? My group has been doing this more and more. We’re probably in ~8 days a month, so well over the 5 days. However, nobody wants to keep showing up for the extra days if we’re going to get in trouble for missing a connect week day or two.

Fidelity is crazy if they’re going to yell at people who are coming in more than 5 days and coming in on days where there’s actually a business purpose to show up. The praising the people who show up just because it’s a connect week and barely work. Great way to lose top performers.

Welcome to "Whose Connect Week Is It Anyway?" the initiative where everything's made up and the swipes don't matter.

Different rules depending on who you ask and the rules seem to be interpreted differently by every manager/director. We’re being set up for failure.

As an ex employee I can't believe how angry everyone on here sounds. Fidelity was great when I worked there. I left with the second VBO and I can't say enough good things. However, when I speak to people still working there, I'm saddened. Apparently, they must have sold parts of the firm off because I can't imagine my Fidelity dismissing life work balance and that is what it sounds like is happening.

I hope things turn around for you all.
Just know, there is life after Fidelity.

Our management team is fine with us doing this because they want us aligning with the other groups we work with, not showing up 5 assigned days and sitting with random teams.

HR is definitely not okay with this and are tracking how weeks you came in for all 5 days with the exception of a holiday week for the full performance year. They are using RTO as a reason to lower associates' year-end bonus and I know for a fact that those "extra days" will only help keep you from getting a super low bonus for those that are eligible.

Check the connect weeks faq off of fidelity central. They added a faq for this scenario recently and the answer is it is “not” fine.

I hear they are monitoring people not fulfilling the connect weeks via badge swipes
