HR Rep on All Hands

Is it normal for an HR rep to be required to attend an All Hands call?

It’s a conflict of interest when HR rep is part of the process when someone raises a concern and they are pretty much in bed with the SVP who can influence their review.

Some leaders consider their HRBP and Comms person to be their extended team and attend their staff, all hands, etc. If HR is on the agenda for a presentation topic, then it’s probably still something tame like a refresher on mid year reviews or something. Or it could be a re-org, but those were usually last minute thrown together meetings where the nervous executives would joke to try to lighten the mood while we winced at how inappropriate it was on a day when nice people lost their jobs.

HR reps like to attend staff meetings with executives, town halls and all hands. Not unusual
