Thread regarding Imperial Oil Limited layoffs

Just Checking In

To All:
I was just checking in to see if things were getting better. Based on many posts I read here, sure sounds like it got worse.
I used to work there from 2003 to 2019. I was a contractor but I thought it was a great place to work. I was isolated from the corporate culture and just got to focus on my job so I didn't even know a lot of what was going within the company.

Things sure we downhill when Brad Corson took over. Rich Kruger like to cut, but it seem like Brad like to cut and offshore.
When they started that offshoring, that seemed like to final nails in the coffin.

I wish the government would step in and demand companies do that work here in Canada. Most countries wouldn't allow their jobs to be offshored, but I guess we are just stupid. I mean we have TruDope as our PM for 9 years, so that says a lot.

"The Budget will balance itself"
"I don't think about monetary Policy"
"Interest Rates are at historic lows Glen"

Yep. He said these things. That's our boy.

Imperial cannot compete with other ExxonMobil locations when you compare corporate services delivery costs. So many work processes and head-count have been ported to Argentina, Brazil, Hungary, India and Thailand. Many employees are quitting as their future does not appear promising.

Imperial Oil used to be a proud ethical Canadian company. Not anymore.
EM has taken over and keeps driving outsourcing to India and low cost countries. No longer supporting Canadian jobs.
Shamefully Shame on all the managers that follow the EM Script.

Brad just take orders from DW........the business control training we did recently about corporate separateness, all BS. Imperial sites used to be able to operate on their own technically, now all our technical talents are gone....we can't even start a plant from dark (see Joliet)
