“Don’t worry about Varicent”

Is it right for a manager to tell his team to not worry about checking your compensation through varicent since “it’s not worth your time” ?
Isn’t it the Responsibility of the company to ensure you get paid comp correctly??

Trust but verify. You should care the most and not rely on others to ensure the amount is correct.

Understand your comp plan. Read through it and if you are unsure either speak with your peers, manager, lawyer, etc.

The company is legally obligated to pay you correctly. But you should ensure you agree to what that amount is.

Most of the time that sc--w ups happen because of ignorance and not malice.
