ELV is a pretty cr-ppy place to work. I wonder if other companies are any better, or the same?

I left elevance a year ago and work for another company in the industry. It’s just as bad, if not worse, at other insurers. The grass is not greener anywhere in this industry. Everyone is expected to do more with less. My advice is work wherever you have someone you can trust and you have a person or two to support you throughout the work week. That’s the only way you’ll be able to make it these days.
All industries are experiencing RIF’s currently. Only people that maybe truly safe are those that have a union or the civil sector (state, county, city, etc)
I was RIF'd at the end of last year from ELV but I still have good friends at ELV (based in IN) It took me 6 months to find a new job. I'm still new in my role but I would say at my new job, the morale is better, the leadership is more in touch, and it is not quite as obviously full of greed/fixation on stock price. I was heartbroken to be RIF'd but now I am thankful. Most of my old friends are either looking or counting down to their retirement. I don't know how things got so bad. When I started in 2012 I loved my job at ELV.
Elevance was great b4 Gail. Or maybe I was just oblivious. There are much more employee friendly companies. Right now the job market is completely fu---d so we'll all suffer on unemployment for a while.
This too shall pass !
