All employees back in office full-time Oct. 1, 2024. If this was the plan all along -- what was the point of signing the Remote Hybrid Agreement in June 2024?

Pre RIF Gulfstream playbook:
- Start enforcement of little know rules that have been overlooked for years/decades
- Add a few more rules
- Make the p-e ons even more miserable at the same time you tell them how lucky they are
- File with dept of labor at last possible moment
- Drop the axe around Christmas or Thanksgiving for maximum impact.
RIF was my first thought. They wanted to gauge how many this would irritate. I had just read this was another companies tactic to reduce force without lifting a finger.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the RIF is around the corner!! Tuesday the 27 the clock will start ticking!!!
Don't be fooled... this is Silent firing. A way to see if they can trim the fat before having to have a RIF and pay severance to many more.
Booooo! hybrid was def a selling point as part of benefit
Computer nerds whining? That’s funny coming from the “dead wood” on the floor supposedly working 40 hours per week. Lol
Curious, “ read your contract”? Who has a contract?
First step leading to the next RIF.
"We're better when together" until it's time for a RIF. Then, we're better with our you.
You don’t have to accept being underpaid and mistreated to work here … but it helps! Just kidding. You have to accept being underpaid and mistreated to work here. Read your contract.
It's easier to leave and change employers than to change your current employer.
To the reply by (WeCare): You say, We are not Elon. Correct! But I can guarantee, you could cut a 1/3 or better of the dead wood off this tree (GA) and it wouldn't hurt it a bit! It would actually help it!
I figured it wouldn't take long for all you whiney computer nerds to start Reeeeeeeeeeing because you can't lay around the house all day and get paid like your working anymore. Get up in the morning, get dressed and drive yourself to work in the morning, like the rest of us do.
Hi. Let’s say remote/hybrid is here to stay.
Then let’s spend who knows how much money to make employees be ambassadors/influencers for recruitment with “We Care” for our teams background. Shouldn’t leadership have that as their background? Poor timing.
Right after that we say, “hey. Come back to the office full-time bc we are better together”. Better together means same teams meetings for those that don’t touch the aircraft. We will all drive the now 2 hours to the office (and back home) to Teams even more. But if you take away Teams, that means 30 mins driving to facility and 30 to drive back, not counting if meeting runs over… but hour lost of work in driving.
People prided Gulfstream on Glint Survey for work/life balance. The scores have been meh but that has been consistent. Appreciation of flexibility. Let’s circle back to the new “We Care” brand ambassadors, company money spent. Everything is poor timing.
You have ripped work/life balance from your employees. That means you have messed with their family, mental health, appointments for doctors, PTO, and put them at risk at the unsafe traffic that surrounds Gulfstream.
I realize everything and changes take time to absorb. We aren’t Elon. We aren’t Microsoft. We aren’t Google. Stop comparing our company to do what they do. We are unique from them and deserve to advertise that.
Fix supply chain and prices. Listen to your external customer.
Listen to your groups of internal customers who don’t impact these results. No impact on external customers. Don’t punish groups who literally support remote people. Make that make sense.
The best way to ensure we grow even stronger as we focus on the outcomes touted by M.B. is:
eliminating the four ten hour work week schedule for Engineering, Quality, & Procurement.

If you suspect Gulfstream has performed any unsafe or unauthorized activity that impacts aviation safety, you are all morally and professionally obligated to report this to the proper channels without delay. You should also report this externally as well to ensure the concern is heard.

All or nothing? We got crab mentality in here. You expect the Janitor to be on the floor welding too?
It is not uncommon for my field of work to be salary & fully remote. The employee incentive and loyalty is lost here. There are good genuine people at this company. But, if the powers at be, will it so, then so be it. Maybe a few people will leave - but truthfully we know most of us can't.
Employee champion? HR is going to show that poor soul the door. Fill out your glints and keep your head low. Hammer is going to come pounding come lay off season soon.
Ask yourselves who should be the one speaking on behalf of the employees? Who’s the employee champion?
While it is true those who build or touch the aircraft aren’t in a role that can be remote, but there are those roles that don’t touch the aircraft or who don’t typically interface face to face with a customer internal or external could have the flexibility to work remote or hybrid. As “all or nothing” pointed out it becomes a company philosophy to treat all the same.
Still a great place to work and the best and coolest product to be associated with.
This is the way it needs to be (all or nothing). Not very bright upstairs eh!? How do you expect people working on planes to work remote? Perhaps you need to re-tool yourself mate.
There are numerous other positions in the company that could have been hybrid, but it was ALWAYS disallowed simply because of which SVP they fell under. It's infuriating to enjoy the work you do, but not be able to enjoy benefits others were privileged to have. This is the way it needs to be (all or nothing).
I think it's time for new leadership that's willing to evolve. If you're pulling this stunt because you have groups abusing it, target those groups not the entire company. Prepare for lots of vacancies.
My Hybrid form is still pending. Seems like they knew all along and we're all along for the roller-coaster.
WOW! This is surprising!
