Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

I don’t like my job

And I especially don’t like this company. Worked insurance for years in diff places, and this is, hands down, the worst. I haven’t been here for long, and I’m looking for an exit. Jobs are not exactly plenty these days. I’ve been sending out to smaller companies as well, not necessarily in the health business, and so far it’s been meh. Anyone have any ideas or recommendations? What’s your experience with job hunting?

Look and apply for new jobs over the holidays. There will be less applicants and compet.

I hate my job too. Managers don't acknowledge hard work. You get rewarded with more work and tighter deadlines. The harder they push, the slower I go. Coworkers are disrespectful and condescending. I don't belong here anymore. Need to find something else ASAP.

I think we were paying a lot out of our paycheck for ppo and top benefits. I was paying over $1k for 3 people

I’ve been looking for another job as well. I’ve worked at other insurance companies too & Elevance is by far the worst one. The benefits are not as good as the other companies either. I was basically lied to in my interview by being told that lay offs don’t happen here. Yeah ok. My manager is the worse I’ve ever seen. Lazy, unprofessional, a micromanager, hates change, does not advocate for us at all, treats us unfairly, & has no idea what is going on. It’s awful. Terrible reviews on the employee satisfaction survey too but nobody cares.

It really didn't use to be this way, honestly. Us old timers realize just what a $hitshow its become under Gail. Its like she is trying to make us like United, but worse.... and she's succeeding.

I have been rather happy here for almost 21 years. Good benefits, good people, put my kid through college and food on the table. 2024 has been different though. Hard to focus when your worried about getting a pink slip.

I agree, this company is the worst I have ever worked in. I wonder why that is? Most industries are laying off, getting a new job could be a challenge.
