All of them have 2 options, work in the US, or work at home country. You build up your career either way.
I also have 2 options, work in the US, or drive UBER in the US.

Very few H1Bs are Riffed compared to the US citizens. I only see citizens are being let go. TBH it’s a fault of our American Leaders as well. They keep h1bs so they can exploit. And we non-leader Americans suffer.
H1B employees are just being used like the rest of us. I have no idea what employee rights, pay, or benefits they get. Are they drastically different than on on-shore US citizen? Compared to the US dollar and inflation, are they getting sc--wed too by being underpaid or are they significantly underpaid because India's economy and prices are way different than US. A $50k salary to them might be a gold mine. While a $50k salary in US employee will struggle to make ends meet.
As stated in another post, many h1b have been impacted. Whoever wasn’t would be targeted due to immigration costs that ELV won’t bear anymore. Most departments have stopped sponsorships for new employees or even existing one
I’m sure you’ll find another American company to work for, meanwhile American workers are just trying to make it.
I don’t think many H1Bs are impacted. I haven’t heard a single one since last year. Felt like safest place for immigrants. I worked with some of the Lousiest H1Bs in ELV. None of them got RIF last year from EDA dept. but some talented resources had to go.
That is why it is important to issue H1b only for time of job tenure. If it’s ended early, employer pay remaining portion to h1b once he/she leave country.
New job , new H1b with new timeline. This is absolutely exploitation by employers. They fakely put long term role and then want us to compete with each other to reduce cost once here in USA. Treated us like fish market by employers and middle men pi-ps.
Okay.. Do you know where we can find this details of switching to B1/B2 visa
If you cannot find a job in 60 days, you have the option of switching to B1/B2 visa. That will buy you additional time to search for one.
