My plans were dashed on the rocks of reality last week. I was RIF'ed. Okay, so that plan didn't workout. So, I'll come up with a new plan! I've made it this far, just a bit further to that retirement dream. What's your plan?

What does being eligible for retirement entitle you to when you’re RIF’ed? I think I probably am, but there’s nothing in my documents that refer to retirement.
I was RIF'd this month, just a few months short of being retirement eligible. Seriously ticked off because the small amount of money they save by RIFing me 137 days short of retirement eligibility (yes I was counting down) is nothing to them but to me it means going back on the job market. I'll be OK but my bitter taste for this repugnant place will never go away.
Way to go, @exnh+1u0hOVXa ! 👌
They shoved me into that "bridge to retirement" plan. I wasn't going to retire at 55, and it was laughable to even mention it. I'll be lucky if I can retire by 70.
What I did was jump to the other side of the coin or fence. I took my skills learned at Anthem and now apply them at a healthcare entity that runs hospitals, etc. It gets really fun watching Anthem trying to pull stunts with their contracts with hospitals and doctors, and I get to call them out on it. There's a reason there's been no new contract for a very long time. We won't put up with their BS.
I got about 15 years until retirement so no plan beyond look for a FT job with good benefits and HOPEFULLY better pay. Otherwise at this age, just take lateral pay. And if desperate, you'll have to cut yourself short.
You’ve got this. Just keep your head to you
While I am not there yet, I found this site to be of interest & discovered it while poking around LinkedIn. Hoping they're around as I get closer to retirement: https://wahve.com/
