A Pivotal Moment for Growth

How did you all like that email from Gail earlier today? Seems like foreshadowing. Knowing what I know there’s a lot to read between the lines. How did you all like that email from Gail earlier today? Seems like foreshadowing knowing what I know there’s a lot to read between the lines.

Agree it was a good place to work when Joe S was CEO. Since Gail it’s gotten worse each passing year. Current state is a dumpster fire, constant chaos, unhappy employees, zero loyalty to the enterprise (for obvious 1000 reasons). Tragic that valuing productivity and talent have been replaced with forced hybrid and 50miles pulse points restriction.

At the end of the day, Gail's job was to get the stock up. She did. Word on the street while I was there was that she didn't like men and, many of us were RIF'd, from good, needed, well-performed positions, replaced by women. That's s-xist. It does not matter what race, gender, or cult you belong to - just do your job and be great. Part of Gail's tenure that was/is infuriating is the constant self promotion - constant "woman of this" and "woman of that" awards - rather than focusing on the members and consumers. The hundreds of thousands spent with an external agency to come up with the 'health of humanity' (while I was there) is the most god-awful self serving piece of marketing cr-p I've ever heard. It means absolutely nothing to anyone other than the people that came up with it. I hope that any changes coming (and with the CMO finally gone) that they can once again get back to being great, like in the Joe Swedish days.

Pretty sure we already have a man.

Either gender is fine...as long as they are effective as a CEO. Effective for associates and our members.

It is this CEO that we have, she just happens to be a woman. She has a history of this sort of thing, and she must be making the shareholders happy or they would boot her. It is embarrassing telling people where I work now, for the past several years. So I don’t. The company denies so many medical necessary things just to spend the money on social programs.

I can’t wait for lovely AI to mess it all up for them and bring this company to its knees. When you become so money hungry your future will crumble one day- everytime we have a woman ceo we need a man!

I listened to her speech today when they sent it out again….I never go to the town halls, they are just platforms for bragging on themselves. if I didn’t know there is probably a rif 0808 I would know it now. Just wish they would tell us individually now and be done with it. And elevance wants to serve humanity now, remember when we wanted to help the health of those we serve?

Change but it's secret change but you better like it even though you don't know what it is.

Well it all makes sense on “change “

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Healthcare contact center and nurse services provider Carelon Global Solutions Philippines is set to expand its operations by adding 1,000 more seats next year.
This move will push the company’s staffing beyond the 10,000-worker mark, reinforcing its commitment to growth in the Philippines.
Current workforce and locations
Carelon Philippines Chief Country Executive Nicolai Agcaoili announced the expansion during a briefing last week.
“As we speak, we have more than a thousand jobs in the pipeline. So, with that, my fervent hope is to get us to breach the 10,000 mark,” Agcaoili told BusinessWorld.

The first thing that came to mind when she mention change was that after the RIF they are bringing those left back in the office full time. I just can't trust these coded messages. Just say it, what change!!

Adjusting based on Hype - AI to replace Humans. Reality is that the cost simply gets redistributed to Bezos bottom line - every cloud vendor is upselling at the moment to cover the true cost of AI. However, those costs go along with the current hype, so shareholders are happy with the wash.

This message is the same kr-p they feed us every few years. Who cares! This place is better than any reality show. Don't waste your time or energy with this. Sit back and enjoy the show. In this weeks epsiode, the marginal leadership team experience strong headwinds in their ability to lead:)

The message was clear big change is coming. No reason to say that unless it’s organizationally. The theme was carried on throughout the call and you heard that WE are needed to make AI successful. With that statement it seems the RIFs will probably be more at the leadership level. Directors if I had to guess.

Was shocked she didn't just come right out and say RIF during the town hall she used about every corporate jargon to say they were coming.

She mentions " think about change and the choice we have in how we respond to it" is code for RIFS coming soon.

Guarantee they are coming, protect shareholders at all costs. Layoffs, our of the blue terminations to avoid paying severance. Not the same company I was once proud to work for.

During Townhall earlier that day she pushed accepting change, followed by lots of talk about AI and then discussion of making a fraction less this quarter with still billions and billions of revenue and the desire to please investors. I always think it’s so out of touch when leadership complains yet they’re still making billions of dollars and they know in a few weeks they’re gonna layoff a ton of people. I really think they truly believe after laying off all these people that somehow magically AI is going to pick up that slack. AI is a tool. It’s the people who make it happen.
