Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

Productivity? Remote Monitoring?

Does the company monitor remote workers? For example, monitors the amount of idle time or clicks?

Former salaried employee here. They absolutely monitor idle for exempt roles

Anyone asking if they are being monitored has something to hide. Stop being a slacker and do your job.

It typically not "monitored" for example employees. But they can see it if they want to. I know people in exempt roles who were actually monitored and rated on it for a few years, though this was eventually pulled back.

idle time is monitored for non-exempt employees with production/inventory requirements. it's not monitored for salaried employees (that i am aware of, anyway).

Yes. At one point "Idle Time" was actually a metric on annual reviews for a lot of roles. Not sure if that's still the case or not.

No, not at all. We've been getting away with hours of idle time every day for years.

You are obviously from Cigna MA where you are absolutely remotely monitored.

The more pressing question is how much HCSC allows for remote work and what positions and conditions are available for remote work. But no one is asking.

My suggestion, always assume yes to this question. No matter who the employer is.
