It was reported to me by someone outside our company that Baxter had announced a bunch more layoffs. I'm not seeing or hearing anything about that from any other sources - so it might be bunk - but does anyone know anything?

Yeah, I’ve been hearing the same—word is the plant might be shutting down, but nothing official yet. Between the slow production, unpaid time off, and talk of a buyout, it definitely feels like something bigger is brewing.
I’ve heard similar chatter around the North Cove facility. No official announcements about more layoffs so far, but things have definitely been slow. From what people are saying, product demand is low, shipments are down, and some production lines have been idle for days and even weeks at a time without it affecting customer orders.
After the warehouse losses from Hurricane Helene, you’d expect production to ramp up—but that hasn’t happened. There’s also been a lot of unpaid time off recently, and it sounds like most of October and all of December could be the same. Some talk of a possible buyout too, but nothing confirmed. A lot of uncertainty right now, for sure.
