Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

Most unethical place

Good luck attracting younger talent. Exit interview was pointless. Do your managers come in 3 days a week? Are you teaching your director who makes triple your salary how to PRINT? Thank God I didn't waste my time. Bologna.

“It is simple. They own the building, so they need to use it.”

Fine but make it more flexible 1-2 days a week and you’ll get happier employees and still get some in-person collab. Most times folks go in office to hop into Teams calls at a desk or in privacy in a Focus room.

This was handled in a amateur manner. If you take something away, you explain why. Not Maurice, he is too busy counting his $28M salary to explain to the peasants his decisions.

When you have 3 or 4 weeks of PTO, losing 2 days is an impact but a much smaller impact that an employee with 2 weeks, 2 days is a huge % of your annual PTO (11%).

I left my last company when HR started to play games. Time to go, I don't feel like giving up my PTO so Maurice and his cronies can give themselves 25% raises each year. Fu-k You Maurice Smith, you have lost all credibility with your employees. No more town halls for me, you guys just stand up there a lie to us and then go to your backroom and steal from us. Poor Leadership

It is simple. They own the building, so they need to use it.

They feel, and have for YEARS that "anyone can do this" and so they feel they can pay low and have cr-ppy benefits and get away with it.

How they do so in IT I cant imagine.

Are they still spending megabucks on consultants?

I would be ok about the reduced Paid Sick/Wellness Days by 2 days if they in turn loosened up the strict 3 days a week in office policy. They also have offices in the suburbs that can accommodate more workers who live close by there but are forced to commute to the city as their main "home" office.

So I'm unsure why they're doing all of this from the combination of reducing Paid Leave along with a restrictive WFH policy including which office you must go to for in-office work. It will really hurt retaining good people and recruiting good people, so I don't understand it.
