Thread regarding Palo Alto Networks Inc. layoffs

They want you to leave on your own

Passive aggressive bullying, that's why.

Managers do everything to get people to leave on their own. Those who somehow survive the abuse, and still hang in there, are bribed to leave via a "mutual separation" OR hang on for a coaching program, which has no objective metrics. Essentially, if you don't accept the separation agreement we will force u out with nothing.

And another one bites the dust....

People of a certain age are dropping like flies. Interesting how these posts were foreshadowing for how PANW is managing our targeted people to keep the average age down (while obviously recruiting younger people).

How is this legal? Why are they able to get away with this? They seem to not care at all, as if they are above the law.

😳😲😳😲😳 WOW!
I thought it was just me and an unprofessional manager (along with some clueless HR "contractor" with horrific attitude ).

But now I know this is their HR Strategy? Make each and every employee pushed out on trumped up performance claims believe it is just them, when in fact it is a smoke & mirrors bait & switch and WIDESPREAD! This can't be legal!

General Summary that HR has been directing managers to

  1. Change performance reviews so employees don't have "meet" expectations
  2. Encourage people to leave under fear of termination

Essentially, PANW wants to avoid layoffs, so they encourage people to leave and if they don't leave they will then claim performance. This has been going on for over a year. The posts just showcase that most people feel they are alone in these experiences. They are widespread and common.

Has anyone seen the comments piling in today on Blind?
I don't know about you, but I've been pretty slammed with some last to game orders (fortunately), but this was forwarded to me by a buddy outside of PANW who wanted to make certain I was ok. Am I the only one in the dark on this? Please let me know what is going on...

I suspect something like is currently happening with my team. Previously our manager was very vocal about getting one of our guys to leave. Now they are abruptly quiet. I'm wondering if the employee chose to leave considering the situation.

We've all known that Quiet Firing is the preferred strategy at PANW. When the market was soaring it really didn't matter as there was seamless transition into new roles in the industry. Nowadays there is a spotlight on this passive aggressive "HR Strategy" because it really is imbalanced and targeting, and the market has less opportunities. To be honest, it doesn't seem like it is a strategy that develops sustainable competent leaders. How can we continue to evolve and grow in the industry if we have bred a generation of leaders who don't know how to lead through adversity? If leaders are told they can just quietly manage out anyone they don't like, can they even be called a "leader". Doesn't that just make them a spinless "appointee"? Do better, PANW. DO. BETTER.

But don't I have to wait until they lay me off if I am going to a competitor?
If everyone is waiting to go to a competitor, it sounds like PANW is losing their game of chicken.
