I don’t want to leave T without them paying me dues, so I have to sit it out. And they somehow missed me several times already. C’mon.

All I did was ask our HR business partner and I got my severance. I even asked for an earlier date than my original request and they said yes. I know two other people that left the same way. You have nothing to lose. Just ask.
You must be waiting for the 5/5/5 offer!! Me too!!!!!!!
If you really wanted to leave you’d already be gone. #troll
I heard 20% pay cut or more coming for many groups, another push to get folks to leave?
I heard that there is no more severance. You either take a job with half the pay or you quit.
5-5-1 package coming soon.
The termination package referenced pays out up to 2 years pay. This is per our Leg T/CWA union contract. Many managers don't know about this and that workers regularly get it. I'm hoping for this "two year paid vacation" as a sweet incentive to retire.
Just post your name, manager and organization her. I’m sure they will be glad to assist you out the door or are you a chicken and blowhard?
Put your money where your mouth is, buddy.

I'm not really laughing at him since he does make some points. Look, we all know a guy who in every conversation for the last decade and a half talks about "they're going to have to pay me to leave." He's miserable, usually lazy, too, and he makes everyone else miserable. And the more he kvetches, the less work he does. For me, I've gotten a nice 401k match, and I'm lucky enough to have a pension, even if it doesn't get the 3-4 times multiply factor his lazy behind does. The company doesn't technically have to pay many of us a severance, and with things as they are the packages of many years ago aren't ever going to happen again. If I want to leave, I will do it instead of acting like this is some long overdue divorce where no one wants the be the first, so they don't either have to pay or so they can get the most alimony/settlement.
Rather make you miserable so you quit.
Funny how aggressive some ill-informed people are on here. The package referred to is specifically in the language of the labor agreement between Leg T and the CWA which includes up to two years pay.
I can call "6 months severance and 6 months health care benefits" a "package" if I want to.
"Of course I want the two year paid vacation aka termination pay as a fun retirement bonus. I'm still working and I'm very good at my job however I'm very much excited for the package"
"The package"
There is no package. There is severance according to the terms of the policy. That is it. Why are you being delusional about this?
100's of posts from people claiming T is so bad it is driving them to EAP/can't eat/sleep/kicking their dogs every day. They won't retire until they get their mortgage paid off, a new BMW. and $1,000,000 in severance pay. I work with a tech that has been waiting 5 years for "the Package" Just resign please
You cannot sit and wait. If you are ready, let your manager know that you are interested in leaving. I did, and thankfully I’m a member of the class of 7/9.
Please use your shovel to clean customers dogs land blobs daily. Wear your booties and work late also. No layoffs for you.
Funny how some are jealous, envious, shallow minded and filled with hatetred. I agree with the OP and am in the same boat. I have over 30 dedicated hard working years with the company and I've planned and prepared for retirement and I'm ready. Of course I want the two year paid vacation aka termination pay as a fun retirement bonus. I'm still working and I'm very good at my job however I'm very much excited for the package. I believe each and every task and component I do is being automated and what's left is being outsourced or offshored so eventually I'll be laid off. It's inevitable and I'm looking forward to it. It's easy to laugh at the rude commenter on this post and it's simply fair to say to that joker: fu-k you!
I f'king hate people like you. If you hate it that much...leave. If the grass is so much greener elsewhere, then you will be able to more than make up for the paltry severance they give management. And if you're one of those craft as--s who's waiting on the 2-3 times salary severance, well then I guess that explains why you're a hateable pr--k. Just leave, so the rest of us can do our work more efficiently until our day comes or we decide to leave regardless of any severance.
Keep waiting and the severance package is going to be lowered.
