Is IT doing layoffs? Has anyone heard anything?

Given that Carelon lost the DoD (One Source) contract, I think it is safe to say that Carelon IT is going to be hit pretty hard in this RIF.
Absolutely!
With more outsourcing to Kyndryl, Deloitte, and CGS. Fewer soldiers fighting for their country and more mercenaries out for their own good. Kyndryl and CGS have already proven to be terrible but that really hasn't mattered to decision makers. Deloitte will likely prove the same.
20+ years ago, the IT layoffs appeared to happen quarterly, some of us joked, if we survived, that we got a new 90 day lease
A few years after that they became sporadic, then monthly
Now every other Thursday (non-pay week) is a chance
That did not include moving/transferring/outsourcing jobs to IBM (or elsewhere)
The first big move to IBM included DBAs, Windows and AIX/Linux admins, WebSphere and MQ admins
(Working with IBM for DBA work was so painful, it was brought back inhouse)
Then about 4 years ago more jobs/responsibilities were moved to IBM - it included the DBAs, system performance, many applications including dev and support. Shortly after that IBM created Kyndrl and the DBAs and systerm performance moved to that, Since then Deloitte
As many have said before, in different words, IT is always subject to RIFs and/or outsourcing.
The entire company is doing layoffs.
You don't have to ask if your business area, department, or group will be impacted.
I heard the head of IT got canned. That can't be a good sign.
IT get RIF'd constantly at this company... Since I started here....over 20 years ago
I heard via the grapevine that IT is laying off. Not sure how much merit this holds since this was via the grapevine.
no one in IT should ever feel cozy, anywhere.
IT is always laying off. Situation normal.
