Although I consider myself a well-rounded, somewhat intellectual and a technical person. I was made to feel as if I was worthless and had little value other than being an administrative assistant.
You have a supervisor who has been most of his career, a project manager. Then you have the subordinate that has worked in the areas of networking, telecommunications to server administration. If only to find out that your supervisor has been downplaying your skills and playing off to managers of other departments that you have no technical skills. And then there are those who have immense technical skillsets but are not as well spoken and those who don't, but are great speakers. It seems like the extroverts who are good at BS'ing, will always get ahead of those that are not so extroverted.
And of course today was a day of gas-lighting or overt acts by the BS squad that will not allow you to finish a sentence or talk for yourself. More or less, an indirect way of bullying to be top dog in the kennel.
Forget about trying to move to another position in a different department. Only after under the table deals have been done for positions that were not openly advertised. Do you find out there were job openings, just no one knew about them.
At the end of the day, it's an anxiety, frustration and sadness that overwhelms you. You can't go to higher management or HR because they don't really care. You're just a number, to help them meet their numbers and whatever is expected of them.
This is what it means to be at Gainwell
