Things that definitely can be said:

  1. its no accident
  2. they have a reason for doing it

Certainly in countries that actually have labour laws (ie not the USA) its got to be all about making those who cost money to get rid of quit themselves. The new hires aren't due anything for 1-2 years and even after that 3-4 years doesn't cost much to bin them.

I believe its all about reducing book liability for redundo payments I suggest.... which would be a liability line on the balance sheet for someone else buying the company....

In the meantime, you are shrinking wages in real terms whilst charging clients COLA - margin expansion. This is also a tick box for a buyer.

What I don't understand is the constant carrot dangling though. I thought this place was supposed to be about honesty.... you can be honest about horrible things just as much as good ones.

If they want to play this game, just straight up tell us.

They don't want to pay the package to those that have been here a long time. They've worked out it's better to make it so rubbish that they leave

The issue for me is we hire a bod at market rate, it's more money than I get. So they do know what market rate is!!! The more people they try and hire the less the established team does. There's no recognition that someone who's been with the company 10+ years is probably way more useful than someone who's only been in a year. But they just keep repeating. They'd seemingly rather hire a whole new team on more money than even attempt to retain established tallent. So on that basis you can understand why anyone over 50 quiet quit a few years back.

Expect the UK Labour Government to sting DXC with an IT tax, so even less money to pay the Executive their bonuses. You would have to be working in a gritty overly manual labour based enterprise, or be a non-working idler to expect any help from Labour.

They won't give a fig.

Dxc UK pay is low for the industry but people are paid at least minimum wage and that's all that they'll care about. Most are paid much more than legal minimum.

That won't translate into higher pay. Probably the opposite.
