Well, the severance formulas that have been shared show that they do not put much value on many years of service. For individual contributors, for example, it is 5 weeks for the first year and 1 week for every year thereafter. That is great if you have only been around a year or two, but if you have put in 10, 15, 20 years, it is not. I guess that is another reason not to stay anywhere very long. Why be loyal when they sure are not.

They need all the change to hire poojeets. What do you expect? They are laying off 2,500 of us and then re-hiring hundreds over there. Same role.
