Given investor interest in Dell's AI strategy (and its impact on our stock price), I'm a bit surprised this isn't making the rounds at the usual tech news sites...

I was wrong about Matt B. Should've read the email! You'd think with such a long tenure at EMC they would have been more patient? I know OCTO has done a lot of AI work so maybe they thought John R made most sense? It's all weird. It's good to know these executives treat each other just as poorly as they treat us peons!
Matt didn't backfill Jeff B. John R. did. Super curious about this one...Jeff B lasted what, seven or eight months in the role?
My educated guess is that Jeff B is being replaced by Matt B, the former corporate strategy head. Matt has a pretty deep knowledge of the AI landscape, and Clarke may have been frustrated going through Jeff B to get an answer from Matt B. 1 exec is cheaper than 2.
I don't think it's because Beaudreau is leaving to head DeepMind or Sagemaker.
what was the reason he was let go? Isn't AI the future. Was he not doing things fast enough?

Babes, what do you mean by "start of"? Layoffs have been happening all year and several leaders/ ICs have been impacted through the summer already. Fully expect more to come with August announcements.
