There are a lot of rumors circulating. Some chatter is about rather massive, across the board layoffs. I’m really scared, because I’m in a really bad spot and can’t afford to lose the job now.

Make no mistake, everything at TIAA is a T thing, all CEO social media smiles and tag lines to prop herself up, all while obliterating the culture. Anyone not drinking the EC kool aid should easily see that days for Denver are growing short. Anyone drinking the kool aid may soon find it’s actually bleach.

A lot of people are already doing that. I believe it is called quiet quitting where you collect pay check and do bare minimum. No one is giving their 100% any more and there is no reason to anyway.
@1wfv+1trAqMlk
I’d gladly take the standard 2 weeks for every year as would a bunch of other Denver folks… just sayin. IYKYK
The Board needs to fire T and all the people she hired. The shining moment of her 3-year tenure has been that god awful Paper Right song along with the matching dress. The Board is just as complicit in the negligence as they keep approving large payouts to T and her cronies with no tangible bottom line results.
T has destroyed TIAA. It will be difficult for TIAA to recover from all the damage that T and her cronies caused.
As for the severance rumors, the severance policy is publically available as part of the compensation governance documents. Legally, the company cannot offer different severances to employees of the same level for different situations. Thus, don’t expect any special “minimum 6 month severance” for Denver folks. When it comes, It will simply be the standard package…2 weeks for every year, a bit of this, a bit of that, etc. They’d have to change the severance policy to do anything differently.
Why not make people in Denver remote workers? Easy…they don’t want you here! You are more expensive than what they can get in Texas. Your knowledge is replaceable, your loyalty is laughed at and your contributions aren’t valued. Rationalize it all you want but that’s how it is viewed by the decision makers. Accept it, understand the rules of the game, play it the best you can and look out for yourself.
Why not just make people in Denver remote workers ?
@cvz+1trAqMlk while we all expect the Denver office to be closing sooner than its lease goes up in 2029, I haven’t heard that particular rumor. But, if it is true, I’ll gladly take 6 months severance over moving to Texas… I love the snow and dry summers here too much. Plus other things…
I heard they will announce in August that they are closing the Denver office and we get a min of 6 months severance. Anyone else hear this?
Folks, take it out on the company the best way you can and do the bare minimum. That’s all I can say. And take every day that is owed you in your time off. You’ll get nothing for it and if year in $$$$ if you bust your a-s I promise you.
I wish T could get voted out. She’s wasted so much money on useless things.
People have saying Record Keeping Services will be targeted to an outsourcing company. Some will go and others will be laid off. At this point....who knows.
Rumor has it they’re targeting CWs and mid level management again
Trust me you are not alone. I knew this was coming and have been actively looking for a job for over six months. So far I just had one interview with Fidelity and was rejected in the final round.
I hope someone from EC is reading this.
T and her Crew you all should be ashamed of yourself, how do you sleep at night. Remember Karma will get you. You all got the big bonuses and pay raise. We don't want to hear about cutting costs when you are traveling in private planes and going on useless retreats.
Roger did not hand over the company to you in shambles.
Leave TIAA and take your buddies with you. I speak for all my colleagues, besides this forum we have no other place to voice our opinion.
Don’t worry, they said they’re gonna do it in a way that reflects the TIAA values. Just look out over the river and picture the farm you’re gonna have…
