I'm in a small team of 8 and we were sent to work from home when previously in office due to making room for other larger departments at the hub. Curious if anyone else has had this happen and if we should be worried?

Let's be real. The data security reason was a bad lie.
24HB and collections are allowed to wfh because the company fears they'd lose those contact center workers and not find adequate replacements.
All other jobs will be forced to rto to weed out those on the fence of retirement or seeking other opportunity. It's all about reducing the workforce to reduce payroll.
Our department also has a group of contractors in India. I wonder if it is happening across the bank or just a few areas.
My office is in downtown Portland, Oregon, but management has made an exception to the 3 -day in office rule for this area due to security concerns. There hasn't been an update on this decision since February and my manager hasn't received any updates. My Directory lists my profile with an office address, but I haven't been in the office since last summer. No complaints.
Cards has sent home their front line from all sites, managers are next, leaving a very small presence. It’s to make room for others. What others? This yo-yo management process is embarrassing and it really makes senior leaders look incompetent, indecisive, and unprofessional.
I’ve been told that USB owns eleven buildings in the L.A. area. If they can’t offload those properties, they’ll fill them with employees.
Someone told me they forced about 500 people in Los Angeles to work from home instead of 3 days in the office because one of the the building lease expired. The people that are required to work in office such as traders had to report to the main building, while everyone else changed to WFH.
So much for data security and team collaboration.
The 24 hour banking and Collections call centers have been excused from RTO and are fully WFH. so how does that add up for data security? You people need to start pushing back, and hard

When people ask where I work, I simply say "a bank"- if they follow up, then I will say where, but only if they specifically ask.
We can't work from home because in-person collaboration is valuable. We can't work from the office because there isn't enough space. Par for the course...
I know of people that are office based but were told to WFH due to there not being space at their assigned location.
