So I turned on my phone this morning to begin my day and was greeted with some sort of automated message which stated “you will be receiving an invite today for a mandatory meeting on 7-8 where your employment status will be discussed effective immediately on 7-8, this is a mandatory meeting”. Is this REALLY how they’re going to be terminating people, with some virtual meetings?

Sorry, wrong date. OP: you received this message on 7/5 about a meeting on 7/8. Did you schedule Monday 7/8 for PTO? I’ve heard advanced notifications go to people taking off on layoff days.
I’m the OP. I was not scheduled to be off on 7-5 and I work in claims as a field appraiser and my CSL is not responding to my calls or emails?
Could it be that maybe other departments or ppl in your department have already been let go and this 7/8 is to tell the rest they are "safe".
I have no clue, just trying to be hopeful.
It seems odd they would give so many days heads up about being laid off.

Sounds like it. That su-ks - probably don’t even have the stones to do it themselves, so hired a consultant to do it.
