Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

Hey Damage Control People

We know OT damage control is reading all of this.
Just remember, this is not ONLY about our fellow team members who just lost their jobs due to incompetant leadership.
This is about past employees too, who gave their all and got the same treatment.
AND
it's for current team members who are STRUGGLING TO TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILES.
The toxic environment employees are subjected too; listening to one sided politcal or social perspectives is outrageous.
Then you have a leader bragging about how he has enough money to 'live off the grid', while the employees look at a HCOL and don't know how they are going to survive.
In the last 3 years, conservatively inflation has risen more than 5% each year. In some areas around the world much higher!
Did all employees get a 5% raise each year to ease the burden on them? No
Did all employees get a 2% or 3% cost of living increase to help them take care of themselves? No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Enough is Enough!

Opentext: a place where careers and products come to die! I am a US-based OpenTexter since 2008. I survived many layoffs that happen every couple years at this company, but my number might be coming up. l lately received a bullsh-t poor performance review. But feel this was not really about performance, but because of the soured MicroFocus acquisition that has dumped the OTEX stock price and management was forced to do this to scare employees and not give salary increases. The only future here is if you're from India, the Philippines, or an id--t. The CEO, mark "Barreneshit", is a worthless dou--ebag. Run from this place and don't look back or you'll become a pillar of sh-t like the CEO and his ELT team!

"Man, life is hard, I feel it, but do not expect any changes complaining here, welcome to Corporate America :-) "

Sometimes it can be therapeutic to know others are in the same boat. Afterall, they laid you off and cut off your access. You don't know if any of your close colleagues/friends were affected. I guess we didn't bother getting their mobile numbers and communicated at the office or through the company systems.

wow, 29 years! you are almost close to retirement
I know a few with the company for 20+ years, it seems to take quite a while for them to land the next role as well

I was laid off in October. Over 50 with 29 years of service. Took me 9! months to get a job. The market is insane right now. Just a heads up. Good luck to all.

To celebrate 4th of July, I watch fireworks with family, eat some BBQ, just to forget unpleasant things happened in the past few days, need to move on

Yes we are not tied to this company. Just move on.

Pro Tip: Avoid all places run by ex-Oracle people except maybe Salesforce.

OpenTexters, especially US based, need to run for the hills. Next June/July, it'll happen again as the Indian and Philippine workforce grows and grows.
